RESCOM mission in Tivatska Solila Nature Reserve (Montenegro)

The goals of this mission were to:

  • Provide general recommendations about the management of the site.
  • Collect necessary information to launch, in the coming months, the realization of a hydrologic study (to better understand the functioning of the Reserve concerning water flow) and works to be undertaken for better management and conservation of the site.
  • Ensure field training for the rangers of PECZMM by implementing low-cost fencing techniques to manage visitor flux and limit their impact on biodiversity
  • Explore the eastern part of the site with a view to creating a trail reserved for managers and scientists.
  • Consider technical solutions to solve the odour problems associated with the presence of wastewater pipes on the site and thus offer visitors better reception conditions.

Warm thanks to PECZMM for their collaboration and involvement, as well as to the other organizations and experts who were met during this week!
