From 24 to 26 June, RESCOM partners gathered in the heart of the Patara Special Environmental Protected Area (SEPA) in the Antalya region of T\u00fcrkiye for the third regional steering committee meeting \u2013 a first in one of the project’s pilot sites.<\/span><\/p>\n

This annual meeting brought together all members of the Mediterranean Biodiversity Consortium, institutional representatives from partner countries, national experts and the French Facility for Global Environment (FFEM), to review the actions carried out over the past years, collectively define future directions, and enhance dialogue and experience sharing between the various pilot sites on common issues related to the conservation of Mediterranean natural areas. <\/span><\/p>\n

The programme combined plenary sessions, field exchanges and collective intelligence, with:<\/span><\/p>\n

    \n
  • A day to review the project’s activities;<\/span><\/li>\n
  • A field immersion alongside Yolda Initiative to understand the specific conservation issues at the Patara site;<\/span><\/li>\n
  • A thematic workshop on adapting the management of natural areas to climate change, facilitated with technical support from the R\u00e9serves Naturelles de France.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    The RESCOM community is taking shape and continuing to grow, fully embodying the project’s vision based on regional sharing. The actions carried out at the pilot sites around the Mediterranean are not isolated: they feed into a collective dynamic of learning, innovation and dissemination of good practices.<\/span><\/p>\n

    A huge thank you to the T.C. Ministry of Environment, Urbanisation and Climate Change in T\u00fcrkiye for its warm welcome, to IUCN Med – Yaprak Arda – for its meticulous organization, and to FFEM and the Agence Fran\u00e7aise de D\u00e9veloppement (AFD) for their trust and support.
