A joint team from the Tour du Valat and the\u00a0Conservatoire du littoral<\/a>\u00a0were in Montenegro to discuss the main conservation issues facing\u00a0the\u00a0\u201cTivatska Solila\u201d<\/a>\u00a0special nature reserve<\/strong>, one of the pilot sites for the RESCOM project, and to identify the priority ecological restoration actions, in consultation with\u00a0the Public Enterprise for Coastal Zone Management<\/a>, the site\u2019s managing partner, and local associations, scientists and authorities (CZIP<\/a>,\u00a0Montenegrine Institute for Marine Biology<\/a>,\u00a0Municipality of Tivat<\/a>).<\/span><\/p>\n

The \u201cTivatska Solila\u201d special nature reserve is one of the last coastal wetlands in Montenegro and is a resting and feeding area on the migratory route of birds.<\/span><\/p>\n

A Ramsar Site and Important Bird Area, the reserve is one of six pilot sites in the 4-year RESCOM project\u00a0supported by the FFEM and the MAVA Foundation and run by the\u00a0Mediterranean Biodiversity Consortium, which aims to implement nature-based solutions in the Mediterranean.<\/span><\/p>\n
